With Spark clear aligners, you don’t need to make any changes to your diet or lifestyle. They are completely removable, so you can eat and drink whatever you choose and brush your teeth as normal.

What does the treatment involve?

We first see you for a consultation appointment, making sure you are a suitable candidate for Spark clear aligners. If you are happy to go ahead, we use our advanced digital equipment to take highly accurate scans and images, and create your bespoke treatment plan.

Your Spark clear aligners are completely custom-made for a comfortable and precise fit. When they are ready, we show you how to fit them into your mouth correctly and give you some personalised tips and advice for your treatment.

You need to wear your clear aligners for at least 22 hours per day, allowing gentle and carefully controlled forces to get to work on straightening your teeth. We see you in the practice for regular appointments, where we check your treatment is going to plan and give you the next set of aligners to wear.

When you have worn the last aligner, your newly straight and confident smile is complete! We give you a final retainer to help maintain your results and keep your teeth in their new positions for the long term.

Frequently asked questions

How long does clear aligner treatment take?

The length of your clear aligner treatment will vary depending on your individual case and how far your teeth have to move. On average, Spark clear aligner cases are completed in 6-18 months. We will give you an idea of your treatment time frame during your initial consultation.

Do Spark clear aligners hurt?

Spark clear aligners are comfortable to wear, and won’t hurt or rub your gums or the inside of your mouth. They are accurately designed to fit snugly over your teeth and are easy to wear. You may feel some temporary and minor discomfort when you start wearing a new aligner, but this fades quickly and is a good indication that your treatment is working!

Why do I need a retainer?

Retainers are a very important stage of all orthodontic treatment, and prevent your teeth from moving back to their initial positions. Your teeth straightening journey has taken time and effort, and a retainer keeps your teeth straight and maintains your hard work.
